چکیده

This work explores the benefits of using user models for plan recognition problems in a real-world application. Selfinterested agents are designed for the prediction of resource usage in the UNIX domain using a stochastic approach to automatically acquire regularities of user behavior. Both sequential information from the command sequence and relational information such as system’s responses and arguments to the commands are considered to typify a user’s behavior and intentions. Issues of ambiguity, distraction and interleaved execution of user behavior are examined and taken into account to improve the probability estimation in hidden Markov models.

Toward Combining Domain Theory and Recipes in Plan Recognition

We present a technique to further narrow the gap between recipe-based and domain theory-based plan recognition through decompositional planning, a planning model that combines hierarchical reasoning as used in hierarchical task networks, and least-commitment refinement reasoning as used in partial-order causal link planning. We represent recipes through decompositional planning operators and us...

Adversarial Planning and Plan Recognition: Two Sides of the Same Coin

Effective adversarial plan recognition requires information about how the adversary is planning his actions and vice versa, the way the adversary is planning his actions is affected by how those actions are going to be detected. In this paper, we develop a game-theoretic model that integrates adversarial planning with adversarial plan recognition. The model considers planning and plan recogniti...

Capability Models and Their Applications in Planning

One important challenge for a set of agents to achieve more efficient collaboration is for these agents to maintain proper models of each other. An important aspect of these models of other agents is that they are often not provided, and hence must be learned from plan execution traces. As a result, these models of other agents are inherently partial and incomplete. Most existing agent models a...

Building plan recognition systems on arbitrary applications: the spying technique

There are today a lot of different techniques for performing plan recognition in various domains, such as Intelligent Tutoring Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, or multi agent Systems. In order to bring theory into practice, we claim that experiments should be carried out a larger scales than what is done today. To do so, we stress on the importance of building incomplete plan recognition sy...

Partial Observability and Probabilistic Plan/Goal Recognition

Partial observability of the domain prevents the application of many plan recognition algorithms to real world problems. This paper presents a treatment for partial observability for a specific probabilistic plan recognition algorithm and an initial analysis of the runtime impact.
